Glass Mat-Reinforced Thermoplastics (GMT) are used as high-performance materials in many domains where high rigidity and low weight are significant factors. They are used above all in the automotive industry for producing structural and semi-structural components.
In the processing process, prefabricated semifinished parts are cut and heated within an oven system. The component is then fed to the press for subsequent forming. The component remains here for cooling and final forming.
