For the most demanding requirements on surfaces and geometry
Fiber-reinforced plastics with long fibers offer outstanding lightweight construction properties and high potential in terms of energy absorption. The dual-machine technology developed by Dieffenbacher guarantees optimum compounding of the reinforcement fibers. This procedure, combined with a process-controlled hydraulic press, is essential for retaining the majority of the fibers in the component. Depending on the requirements, it is possible to set the required fiber length which is generally longer than 20 mm. The mixture of thermoplastic matrix with the fibers and possible additives is performed in one system, which is energy efficient and kind to the material.
Benefits
- High efficiency by direct manufacture of the semifinished product
- Greater productivity thanks to short cycle times
- High level of component properties by retaining long fibers of 20 mm and more in the component
- Use of tailored or advanced LFT-D possible for structural components
- In the direct process, various matrices (PP, PE, PA, PET, etc.) can be processed together with various fibers (glass, natural, synthetic, etc.)
- Thermoplastic recycled materials can be integrated into the process
