Two Dieffenbacher tryout presses for Volkswagen Mexico
Volkswagen de Mexico has ordered a 16,000 kN and a 25,000 kN tryout press from Dieffenbacher for the toolmaking department at its Puebla plant in Mexico. The order conforms the success of the Dieffenbacher tryout press concept. Recent deliveries have gone to Volkswagen in Braunschweig and to Audi in Ingolstadt, Györ and Neckarsulm, amounting to a total of nine new Dieffenbacher tryout presses.
The first tryout press, type IMOTION 1600, has a nominal press force of 16,000 kN and is equipped with a 4,000 kN four-point drawing cushion and a 3,200 kN ram cushion. Its sturdy design allows forming dies to be broken in carefully and smoothly for use in manufacturing body components. The second tryout press of the IMOTION 2500 type has a nominal press force of 25,000 kN. It enables precise simulation of mechanical presses in order to provide realistic production conditions for breaking in body dies to be used in demanding forming processes.
