From Household Waste to Reusable Materials

Organic components with a high energy content are all around us. They include household and residual waste, packaged foods, leftover food, production residues from the food and beverages industry and waste from the agricultural industry. Fermenting these organic components produces biogas, which can be used to generate electrical and thermal energy or treated to produce biomethane for supplying the natural gas network. In addition to energy, another product of the fermentation process is high-quality fertilizer or a stabilized organic. Even the non-organic components of household and residual waste are valuable raw materials. For example, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and Tetra Pak packaging, paper and cardboard, and metallic materials can be separated into specific groups during the waste treatment process and prepared for marketing as a secondary raw material.

Higher Biogas Yields Using Innovative Impact Technology

Waste treatment using our innovative impact technology guarantees highly efficient size reduction of organic waste. As a result, considerably higher biogas yields can be obtained in the fermentation reactors compared to other size reduction techniques. The impact technology selectively reduces the size of organic components. By contrast, the size of plastic packaging is not significantly reduced, allowing it to be efficiently separated from the organic matter, which is then used to produce high-quality fermentation products.
