ClassiSizer – New milling concept for wood
The Dieffenbacher ClassiSizer is an innovative and efficient machine which is able to chip different materials like saw mill residues up to log pieces to various particle sizes. The technology started in the recycling industry. The material infeed process is up to the use of existing conveyors completely variable. The milling process starts by using a rotor with mounted impact elements. The mesh aperture defines the material size. The interaction between the screens and impact elements happens until the final particle size is equal to the mesh aperture. The desired material is carried out of the machine via two screw conveyors. Heavy impurities and oversized material are detected by a sensor. The activation of the sensor opens a movable flap for discharging the waste. The material infeed
conveyor stops and the rotating speed will be reduced.

Benefits
- Interaction between screens and impact elements, no cutting or grinding
- No prior cleaning process necessary
- Impurities will be detected and automatically discharged
- Final particle size definable, from dust up to wood chips or even bigger sizes
- Extremely reduced energy consumption compared to well-known chipping technology
- Low maintenance – no interval care necessary
- Low spare part costs, because of very high life time of screens and impact elements
- No additional extraction necessary
Technical data
- Capacity for biological input material between 1 and 20 to/hBD, depending on input material and installation size
- Variable size of input material, from small particles up to 500 mm length
- Installed power between 20 and 450 kW, depending on the installation size
- Specific energy consumption according to infeed material and the final particle size
